Adopting a dog can be the best thing that can happen to you. Of course, buying one that looks cool seems like an easier alternative. Ausra Kel wants to enthuse a spirit of adoption through her photography. She collaborated with a shelter in Lithuania called Penkta Koja to click pictures of newly adopted dogs with their new family members.
The result is purely beautiful.
The shelter takes in new dogs almost every day. They are often victims of neglect, abandonment, accident or abuse. Some are given up because the owners move to a new country and can’t carry the burden. Such dogs suffer from trust issues and also get aggressive at times.
From the time they enter the doors of this shelter, their wait for a loving and, hopefully, a loyal family begins. Ausra Kel, a photographer, photo editor, and digital artist, loves to give a brand new perspective to her pictures. She met with the dogs who had found new homes and captured them through her lens. Some of them had lived in the shelter for years, while others were new entrants.
Ausra has perfectly transformed simple moments of their lives into extraordinary spectacles.
The dogs and their new parents consider it their destiny to be with each other. More importantly, they are best friends and heroes to each other.
