14 Fun Summer Activities To Do With Your Dog

Summer is a favorite season for quite a lot of people and while I’m not a huge fan of summer, I can see why it’s such a popular season. After all, you get to eat ice cream while relaxing on the beach. Sure, you’ll get sweaty, but that’s a small price to pay for a fun day. But what if you have a Dog with you? You obviously can’t just go for long walks with them all summer.

That is why we have compiled a list of some of the simple and entertaining activities you can do with your dog. Scroll down to check out how to have the best summer ever with your fluffy companion.

1. Swimming Pool session

You are not the only one who enjoys swimming. While not every dog enjoys swimming in a pool, there are some that do. So as long as you stay close to them and keep an eye on them, you should be fine. You may end up with a wet mess on your hands after your doggo has finished, but that is a small price to pay.

2. Tourists

Even if you have lived in your city your entire life, there is nothing wrong with dressing up as a tourist for a day and visiting all the tourist attractions. You’ll be surprised at how many establishments allow dogs. So go on a fun tourist adventure with your dog.

3. Hiking with your Doggo

Hiking with your dog is one of the most thrilling and enjoyable activities you can do. Even if you’re not a big hiker, picking a shallow trail and letting your dog do all the navigating can be a lot of fun. They also get their daily exercise this way, which is always beneficial.

4. Visiting a Vineyard

You might be surprised to learn that many vineyards host special events for dogs. In any case, a vineyard is the ideal setting for a picnic with your dog. So you’ll not only get to sample some delicious wines, but you’ll also get to spend the day with your dog. What more could anyone want?

5. A Movie Night with your Dog

Dogs enjoy watching television with you. It’s debatable whether they understand what’s going on in the movie, but they love sitting in your lap and giving you comfort. So you can always have a movie night at home or attend an outdoor movie screening. 6. A Photoshoot

People enjoy photographing their pets, but we are not all professional photographers. So why not spend a little extra and hire a professional photographer for a day to take headshots of your dog? Or You could also go to interesting locations and photograph them yourself while bribing them with treats. Not a bad way to have memories to look back on and cherish.

7. Take A long drive with your Dog

Dogs adore letting their tongue dangle while driving. They will have the best time as long as you do not take them to the vet. So why not make a day of it and drive around all day while listening to upbeat music? maybe even get them some ice cream while you are at it.

8. A Camping Trip

Dogs make excellent camping companions. They will not only assist you in setting up your tent, but they will also cuddle up with you if it becomes too cold at night. And you don’t have to gather all of your friends ahead of time. Overall, even if you are not an outdoorsy person, a camping trip is a great way to bond with your dog. These camping tents might be just the starting point you are looking for.

9. Participating in Local Dog Events

Even if you don’t want to participate in a dog event, this is a great way to meet new people, both humans and pets. And your dog will undoubtedly appreciate meeting new doggos to picnic with. So, go to your local dog events and have a great time in the sun this summer.

10. A Fun Day at the Beach

How could we leave this out? The beach is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of summer. You might be surprised to learn that many beaches allow dogs. So, if you’re not afraid of a little sand on your dog, this is a great way to spend an entire day having fun.

11. Baking with your Dog

Dogs can not only assist you in baking, but they can also sample your delectable creations. Now, I’m not saying you should feed them the chocolate cake you made (here is why), but there are many recipes designed specifically for dogs. And they deserve a treat now and then.

12. Visiting a Mall for fun

When I’m bored, what I usually do is go to the mall and I’m sure many people will agree with me on that. You can certainly make a day of it if you bring your dog along. While not every shop will accept dogs, you can always do some research ahead of time and visit a mall that allows bringing your dog along.

13. A Frisbee sweat-off session

Dogs enjoy playing with balls, and frisbee is simply a disc version of that. I’d even go so far as to say they’re more enjoyable to play with for your dog. And I’m sure your dog will enjoy a day in the sun running and jumping around. As always, it is an excellent way to bond with your Doggo.

14. Taking a Boat Ride.

A boat ride is a great way to spend a day on the water with your dog if you have never gotten seasick. It is always a good time to soak in the sun while also seeing beautiful scenery, whether you are alone with your dog or with a group of friends. So, rent a boat for the day and watch your dog become the captain.

These are just a few of the activities you can engage in with your dog; I’m sure there are hundreds more. Anything is more enjoyable when you are accompanied by your pet.
