The short version
  • We don’t sell your personal data — ever.
  • Analytics only run after you accept them in the cookie banner.
  • We use your email and message only to reply, do what you asked, and run your account.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time.

Who we are

Doggo (“we”, “us”) operates Doggo.com. The data controller is [Legal entity name], [registered address]. For any privacy question, email [[email protected]] or use our contact form.

What we collect

We try to collect as little as possible. Depending on how you use Doggo, that can include:

  • Things you give us — your email and message when you contact us or send an enquiry; your account details and pet profiles if you register; posts and photos you choose to share.
  • Things collected automatically — basic technical data your browser sends (IP address, device and browser type) and, only with your consent, analytics about how pages are used.
  • Things we never ask for — we don’t request special-category data, and we don’t store your card details (purchases are handled by our payment provider, not by us).

How we use it

  • To reply to you and provide what you asked for — results, enquiries, your account.
  • To keep a record of messages you send us (including via the contact form) so we can reply and follow up — alongside a one-way hashed form of your IP address used only to prevent spam.
  • To run, secure and improve the site, including preventing spam and abuse.
  • With your consent, to understand which content is useful via privacy-respecting analytics.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

Where GDPR applies we rely on: your consent (analytics, optional emails); performance of a contract (running your account); legitimate interests (keeping the site secure and replying to enquiries); and legal obligation where the law requires. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Cookies & analytics

Essential cookies are always on; analytics load only after you accept them in the banner, and you can change your mind anytime. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.

Enquiries & businesses

When you send an enquiry to a listed business, you ask us to pass your name, email and message to the businesses you select so they can reply. We name exactly who will receive it and ask you to confirm first. We keep a record of the enquiry plus a one-way hashed form of your IP address purely to prevent spam — never your IP in the clear.

Accounts & community

If you create an account we store your profile, saved items, pet records and any community contributions. Anything you post publicly is visible to others by design. You can edit or delete your contributions, and close your account, at any time.

When we share

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with: service providers who run the site for us (hosting, email delivery, and — with consent — analytics) under contract; a business you explicitly send an enquiry to; and authorities where the law requires. A current list of processors is available on request [add sub-processor list].

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose we collected it, then delete or anonymise it. Enquiry and contact records are kept for a limited period to handle follow-ups and disputes; account data is kept until you close your account.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export or restrict your data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. UK/EU residents can complain to their data-protection authority; California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including that we do not sell personal information. To exercise a right, contact us and we’ll respond within the time the law allows.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to notify you and the regulator promptly if a breach ever affects you.

Children

Doggo is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, tell us and we’ll delete it.

International transfers

We may process data outside your country. Where we do, we use safeguards recognised by law (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect it.

Changes

We’ll update this policy as Doggo evolves and note the “last updated” date above. We’ll highlight material changes on the site.
