Editorial Policy
Doggo exists to give dog owners advice they can act on with confidence. This policy explains how we research, review, attribute, date and correct everything we publish.
Research & sourcing
Our guidance is grounded in current veterinary and behavioural consensus, peer-reviewed research, and the practical experience of professionals who work with dogs every day. Where guidance differs by country, we say so. We cite reputable sources and avoid presenting opinion as fact.
Expert review
Health, nutrition and safety content is reviewed by a qualified professional in the relevant field before publication. Reviewed articles display the reviewer’s name, credentials and the date last checked. A reviewer signs off on accuracy — they don’t simply lend a name.
Accuracy, dates & corrections
- Every guide shows when it was last updated, and we re-review time-sensitive content (like vaccination or nutrition guidance) regularly.
- If we make a factual error, we correct it promptly and note material changes.
- We distinguish clearly between editorial content, sponsored content and advertising.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial relationships. Advertisers and affiliate partners get no say over our verdicts or which products we recommend. Read how funding works in our testing and affiliate disclosure pages.
Doggo provides general information, not individualised veterinary advice. Your dog is unique — always consult your own vet for diagnosis and treatment, and seek urgent care in an emergency.
