Best way to crate train a nervous rescue?

My rescue panics near the crate. How do I make it a positive space?

Go slow and never force it. Feed every meal near — then just inside — the crate, toss treats in for them to find, and build duration in tiny steps with the door open first. The crate should always predict good things and never be used as punishment.
