Bred to drove cattle across vast distances, the Cattle Dog is one of the most energetic, hard-driving breeds there is — tough, brilliant and utterly devoted to its person. It needs hours of real exercise and a genuine job; without that, it becomes destructive and will herd whatever moves, nipping at heels. The weatherproof coat is easy-care. This is a fantastic dog for an active, experienced owner and a poor fit for almost everyone else.
