Bearded Collies are joyful, high-energy herding dogs that stay playful for years and need plenty of exercise and mental work to channel that bounce. The long shaggy double coat is beautiful but demanding — frequent brushing or it mats badly. Friendly, smart and wonderful with kids, they’re vocal and lively rather than calm. A brilliant companion for an active, hands-on family that can keep up with the grooming and the energy.
