The Malinois is arguably the most demanding popular breed: extraordinarily smart, athletic and work-obsessed, it needs hours of physical exercise AND structured mental work every single day, plus a confident, experienced handler. Without a job it becomes destructive, anxious and reactive. Magnificent for sport, protection or detection work — but genuinely too much dog for the vast majority of pet homes.
