Nicknamed the ‘American Gentleman’ for its tuxedo markings and friendly manners, the Boston is a lively, smart and adaptable companion that fits apartments and families alike. A couple of short walks and some play keep it happy, and the sleek coat needs almost no grooming. Like other flat-faced breeds it can struggle in heat and may snore and snort, so keep exercise gentle in warm weather and protect the prominent eyes from injury. Easy-going, affectionate and easy to live with.
