Schipperkes are intense, inquisitive little spitz-type dogs — endlessly busy, fearless and quick to investigate and announce everything. They need daily exercise and mental stimulation or that curiosity turns to mischief and barking, and they can be escape artists and small-pet chasers. Hardy and long-lived, they suit an active, engaged owner who enjoys a clever, watchful, opinionated little dog.
